Bio
In January of 2017, Scott Koenig began serving as the fifth Executive Director of Project CENTRL since its founding in 1983. He spent the prior seven years raising nearly $14M for his alma mater, The University of Arizona’s (UA) departments including the Cancer Center, Alumni Association and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS.) At CALS, he was accepted into Project CENTRL’s 21st Class and final two-year program, which he credits for truly making him an Arizonan having grown up outside of Toledo, OH. In 2013 he was recognized by the Arizona Daily Star as a 40 Under 40 Recipient making an impact in the Tucson community through professional and volunteer work. He has served as President of Our Family Services and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, successfully conducting national searches at each to hire new CEO’s. Koenig holds an MBA in Marketing and BS in Psychology from UA. His leadership journey began at young age volunteering as head swim coach for Wood County (OH) Special Olympics. During his undergraduate time at UA he was elected captain of the men’s swimming and diving team, President of the Student Athlete Advisory Council and UA representative at the Pac-10 Leadership Conference. When he travels Arizona’s deserts and mountains both with CENTRL and recreationally, he finds time to explore on foot hiking and running with friends and family.
